HandshakeShotFeedback from a few recent clients

Collectively we have worked on over 100 client projects. In the past, the majority of our work has been with startups, with early seed funding, however these days we have a fairly even split between organisations of all sizes and ages. Our expertise has been applied to multiple domains, such as; events, media, sme services, security, fin tech, education, gaming, utilities, aviation, bioinformatics, legal, craft and eCommerce etc., to name a few. We believe a wide range of project experience is invaluable and gives UXR a broad skill-set that we can bring to help with your project.

We generally do not disclose information about our clients, for obvious reasons, NDA being the most common, in fact most of our previous clients are government funded with such NDA’s. Sometimes a prospective client will ask that we show them material in person, sometimes this is OK but generally we don’t as we know the client would not like us showing their material to our next consultation.

We do not keep a portfolio for the above reasons, but also for a few reasons listed here (The Best UX Portfolio the world has never seen). You can, however, find client testimonials from a few of our recent and more interesting projects below.
But first have a look at a sample process we would use on a typical research and design project. The below process was for a Mobile photo sharing app called Closr.

Environmentally friendly complex reverse logistics system

Robin Deegan undertook some work for me as part of an Enterprise Ireland Innovation Voucher funded project some time back. Robin brought terrific insights to the whole area of 'User interface and User experience' and really advanced our thinking on how best to position our app platform. In fact, we are planning to work with him again! Robin is clearly very experienced and knowledgeable in this key - and growing - area of customer engagement with technology and I have no hesitation in recommending him highly.

Innovative mobile learning game teaching young children to code

As part of the Webkids prototype phase, Robin, and the experts at UXR, were presented with a task that wasn't easy but their professional approach and vast knowledge in User Experience Research led to the development of a user friendly, scalable design that returned very positive feedback from parents, children and the education sector at both primary and secondary level. As a result, Webkids was able to progress onto the next level of development and will be launched later this year. Due to Robin’s invaluable input and hard work at the early stages, I would highly recommend Robin and his UXR Consultancy Company.

Novel location based Quantity Surveying mobile app

As part of the project team to develop our unique mobile application, Robin Deegan, and the UXR team, was employed as the UX Consultant for both Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the project. Robin's experience with regard to User Experience Research was invaluable and assisted the direction that the app eventually took and his report altered the eventual development direction of the app. The app is now progressing successfully to phase 3 with the potential to become a HPSU (high potential start up) application. Overall Robin's hard work ethic, efficiency and attention to detail was excellent throughout the early phases of the app development and our company would highly recommend the use of Robin's UX Consultancy company.

Developing a rubric-based productivity app for learning assessment

Barry worked with us on an Enterprise Ireland (Comm fund) project to create a productivity tool for student assessment. Barry led us through a user-centred design process based around, inter alia, successive iterations and testing of a user interface that had to answer many complex and often competing requirements. In the final iteration Barry helped us creating a high fidelity prototype – and associated interface elements and assets -- which not only delivered a great user experience but formed the basis of our software design and development process.

Tailoring a legal publishing website’s content to mobile users

Robin helped us to make some key decisions in relation to layout when redesigning our subscription based legal publishing website. Most key was the fact that he helped us to decide not build an app, but instead build a responsive website. His UX advice has led to a significant change in user uptake, user satisfaction and ultimately profitability.
